Environment Day

World Environment Day is commemorated annually on June 5 to raise global awareness of the need to take positive environmental actions for the protection of nature and the planet Earth. [1]

History
World Environment Day was adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1972 [2] to mark the opening of the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment that took place between 5-16 June 1972 in Stockholm. [3]

Support world leaders
Various media and celebrities are encouraging the World Environment Day Celebration by supporting and participating in it.
