Ex-Newcastle United midfielder Ivory Coast, Cheick Tiote, died at the age of 30 years, Monday (05/06/2017).
Tiote proclaimed had fallen and unconscious while undergoing training session with Beijing Enterprises Group FC, his current club.
The medical staff of the Chinese team then took Tiote to the hospital, where the player was declared dead.
The news of Tiote's death has been confirmed by Emanuele Palladino as an agent. However, he was reluctant to comment much in order to respect the privacy of the players' families.
Tiote himself has a very close past with Newcastle. A total of seven years he spent with the squad team The Magpies before moving to China in February 2017.
In that period, Tiote underwent 156 matches that were decorated one goal and nine assists.
Inevitably, Tiote's departure was accompanied by grief by his former teammates at Newcastle, one of them being Demba Ba.
"May God give you heaven my brother, Tiote," Demba wrote on his Twitter account.
As for Jonas Gutierrez who also had uniformed Newcastle, wrote a message saying, "It's very sad to hear the death of Tiote RIP, my friend. # Nufc.
